FESTIVAL MOOD

Hi people! Im hereby posting some pictures from the "Chill-out Festival" in Istanbul which held last sunday in Kemer Country. Well I was suppose to post this a week ago, but due to some problems of blogpost I couldn't sign in to my account for a week!! :(

They are random pictures, sorry for the quality, I made them quite fast lets say!:) 

But I think it can give you an idea about the atmosphere there and how people were dressed like! 

I must say long-skirts, flower and polka dotted prints were the stars of the fest!!

ROYAL HATNESS

After the Royal Wedding hats stepped into the fashion again, and surely will be trend for a long time. I think its a really feminine detail, will make us feel like ladies again after all the latest masculine fashion trends!Those hats are like tribute to femininity which is fading away slightly due to several factors!! If we compare ourselves with the women of the previous decades, can we still really call ourselves -feminine-? mmmm I doubt it!We are less feminine but more unisex now in all aspects: the way we behave, the way we dress, the way we talk...Ladies, I think its time to remember our nature again and each of us to be the new Marilyns!!:) Why not starting by our outfits? I invite you to celebrate our femininity by wearing hats again!!  Enough of masculine shapes, jackets, jeans...!!!:)  Imagine each of us walking on the street with diverse colorful design hats which represents each of our own personality..Wouldnt it be fun?


I was in Paris 2 weeks ago and I made some tryouts at "Le Bon Marche" with my boyfriend, here are some of them:)

Like 2weeks before the Royal Wedding, Vakko made the initial and brought the world famous hat artist&designer Stephen Jones' s extraordinary works to Istanbul within the exhibition called" Stephen Jones&and the Accent of Fashion". For the ones who has the opportunity and are in Istanbul, this is an exhibition not to be missed!! You can visit until 7th of June at Vakko Fashion Center in Nakkastepe!

In btw. 40 of the hats at the Royal Wedding were of Stephen Jones!

The sweet escape within the city-BEBEKOY,ISTANBUL

Do you ever wanna escape from this big city's crowd and noise sometimes? Personally I wanna go away from all this concrete mass and remember my nature at least once a week and to be able to breath freely and happily saying "oooh". :)I am living in the middle of the city center-in Levent- so each morning when I wake up and open my windows with the need and hope of breathing some fresh air,my lungs are unfortunately filling up with the polluted air instead.. So, like me, do you wanna escape as well once in a while but you don't want to go too far? OK, If you haven't try it yet, BEBEKOY is the place to be!!This place is super-ideal for you to relax and listen to the silence in the middle of the city center!!! This is really such a calming place. Among the below pictures you will find a nice swimming pool but unfortunately you cannot get advantage of it unless you are a member of Bebekoy Mars Athlethic Club.  Note that no any members of other Mars Athlethic Club's can use this one. They designed this one in Bebekoy as to be more exclusive than the other Mars Athlethic Clubs in town, and the price is double than the others too!  But a member of the Bebekoy Mars Club, can enter to any other Mars Clubs! 

However going to that cafe there in Bebekoy and enjoying the beautiful view with relaxing atmosphere doesn't require any membership!! For the one's never been there yet, I really recommend it for a nice sunny Sunday! 

This was the daily speciality, there is a yummyy sea-bass inside that paper bag!

carrot cake is really wow!

The owner of this place doesn't wanna make any kind of advertisement, he thinks that whispers among people is the best way of publicity! 

This place is only a year old and the waiters said in a nice sunny weather they take out all the tables to the garden, so enjoying their amazing carrot cake with a cup of tea or coffee is priceless within that silence and nature with a spectacular view in front of you!!  check it out this sunday!!;)

"Yekpare" is a storyteller which narrates the 8500 year story of Istanbul. The story embraces symbols from Pagans to Roman Empire, from Byzantine Empire to Latin Empire, and finally from Ottoman Empire to Istanbul at the present day.

Haydarpaşa Train Station, with its brilliant architectural forms, is the building on which the story is projected. The connection between middle east to west has been provided by Istanbul and Haydarpaşa since 1906. In the 50’s it served as a door for millions of internal emigrants who have triggered the chaos in Istanbul's dialectical daily life scenes.The project's conceptual, political and geographical positioning, the location’s depth of field and the fact that the entire show can be watched from Kadıköy coast; make "Yekpare" a dramatic presentation.

The first day of the performance also marks the 47th deathday of Nazım Hikmet Ran, the famous Turkish poet. We started out with a quote from his epic novel, "Human Landscapes from My Country": “At Haydarpaşa Train Station, in the spring of 1941, it is three o’clock. Sun, exhaustion and rush lay on the stairs...”

Her sense of design, and the way she constructs her clothes really impress me. Lately she became one of my favorite designers. First she impressed me with her previous summer collection and this followed well. Her style is really one of a kind.  Here is her latest video from the latest London fashion week.

ROBERT BRADFORD & his recycled toy sculptures

He is from London and says he wanted to become an artist from a very young age. He did his B.A, in painting at Ravensbourne College of Art and M.A in Film at the Royal College of Art, London.

He explains his inspiration for creating these plastic 3-D sculptures with these words;

"One day about four years ago out in the studio I was looking into my childrens box of outgrown / discarded toys which happened to be stored in the same building and responded to the random collection of colours shapes and forms they made. I figured that if I could find a way of putting them together to constitute a larger form they would have great potential as larger scale sculpture. "

He creates these sculptures with discarded plastic items, mainly toys but also other colorful plastic pieces.

Some of the sculptures contain pieces from up to 3000 toys. If you would like to own one, they cost around US$19.000.

I dont know you guys but I would like to have 1!!:)  Especially I would like to get the dog,well surely only if I could afford it now,who knows maybe in the future :)))

THE JOY OF FASHION!!!!!!

Like every other season, the students of Central Saint Martins are lucky enough to find a way to show off their extreme talent during the London Fashion Week. This is one of the most exciting fashion show of all the fashion weeks for me. Saint Martins lets their students to be totally free to force their limits of creativeness and craziness. I think this is the secret of the school that most of the graduates are world famous designers!
