Istanbul Fashion Week is still very young , actually a baby project which is being held only for 2 years, so it would be kind of harsh to expect something like Paris, Milan, New York fashion weeks which are being made for more than a century!!
Buut my personal opinion is that fashion industry is developing very fast here lately and each time the quality and design is getting more competitive. Istanbul Fashion Week has already been added to the calendars of fashionistas from all over the world. I don't see myself as a fashion authority, I don't want to be disrespectful and criticizing others work, but as a fashion designer who is a graduate of 1of the best fashion schools in the world, Istituto Marangoni, and worked for famous fashion houses like Marc Jacobs and Tuvana Buyukcinar, I would like to express my personal opinion about my favorite 5 designers of the week and post the pictures of my favorite outfits from all the shows.. Well, these are my personal ideas, and tastes may vary from people to people!!
I took many photos during the shows but unfortunately they didn't come out very well because of my seating. So I would like to thank to Vogue.com.tr and Markafoniblog for their high quality of photos.... Good things are going on in this beautiful city and I am sure we will be seeing even more amazing things in the near future!!
To start with, this is the area where the shows took place...SantralIstanbul..
Well, almost all of the designers had strong pieces aand here are my top 5 designers of this week:
- TUVANA BUYUKCINAR ( Not because I was her designer for a certain period, but I think that she has the power to take us to wonderlands!! Her designs are always very colorful, dynamic and have emotions within!! her big heart reflects her designs!
- ZEYNEP TOSUN ( She has been working for Alberta Ferretti, and now has her own brand. She pursues European standards for the quality of work and designs. She has wearable and really creative designs. I really like her sense of design.
-GAMZE SARACOGLU (Lovely person with a good sense of taste! The collection called "Black Ink" has really cool pieces that I would like to own! Hakan Ozturk made the styling of the show!! Good combination brought really good results! congratulations!!
-OZGUR MASUR(I think we all know that he is creative! and has the ability to direct the trends!
-GUNSELI TURKAY (Especially love her fabric designs!
I would like to congratulate all the designers of the fashion week, as a designer I know very well how difficult and stressful is the process!!!
